My (Current) Work From Home Schedule

I only mostly know what I’m doing.

I’ve been working from home full-time since the summer of 2013. I’ve moved countless times since then. Different states. Different cities. Different houses. Different furniture. I’ve changed the nature of my work several times. Different bosses. Different tasks. Different plans. Different goals.

I’ve experimented and failed and succeeded and even had several months of time where I convinced myself that it counted as work to sit around and read big fat U.S. History books for hours at a time.

What I’m saying is when it comes to working from home, I am an expert.

I’m not GREAT at it, but I do know about it. I’ve experimented enough to know what works (and what doesn’t), for me.

I’m lucky enough that the self-isolation we’ve been doing for six weeks is barely different from my life before that. The overall anxiety about the world and the future is present, but the rest of it is how I’ve worked from home for awhile now.

That said, if you are new to working from home, maybe you can learn a tip or two from my current schedule. For me, routine and structure is key.

OR maybe you can comfort yourself knowing that someone like me, with years of practice, still does not have it down.
